PRESENTATIONS:

The Failure of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs and Their Unintended (Intended?) Consequences: In 2021 the state of Missouri became the last state in the U.S. to adopt a mandatory PDMP, despite opposition from groups like AAPS who see PDMPs as yet another unconstitutional intrusion into the patient-physician relationship. This database of patient prescriptions is purportedly designed to reduce doctor shopping for opioids. But are these programs succeeding in reducing the problem? John D. Lilly, DO, MBA has been studying the data and will share insights on the real story about PDMPs.

Recap of the 2022 Missouri Legislative Session and Current Politics and
Elections: Missouri House of Representatives member, and physician, Lisa Thomas, MD, will give an update on developments from the latest legislative session in Jefferson City, and what may be coming next year, that physicians and patients need to be aware of.
